Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Cowichan Valley have over 53 kids on a waitlist.  The need for male mentors is especially high. Little Brothers and Little Sisters don’t need a lot; their favorite gift is just your time. The fact is, being an amazing mentor has never been easier – play videogames, cook or bake together, or try bowling.  Sharing your favorite activities with your Little makes a huge impact.

Big Brothers Big Sisters offer a wide range of mentoring opportunities: one-to-one matches, in-school mentoring, and 7-week group mentoring programs. Volunteering for only one hour a week can change the course of a kid’s life.

Never underestimate your ability to make someone’s future brighter, even your own.  Mentoring is great way to strengthen one’s connection to community, create bonds, as well as boost resumes.  We all want to look back on our lives and know we’ve made a positive impact. So what are you waiting for? Start something… BIG!
